Still life gif. Stone statue at one of the art galleries.

  1. I see a stone sculpture rotating back and forth. This sculpture reminds me of the work of Isamu Noguchi or Constantine Brancusi. The shadowed, shell-like space in the middle of the sculpture is hypnotic and peaceful. It also looks a bit like an eye or a surveillance camera. It leaves me feeling a bit relaxed but feeling watched. When I look away, I think about that flash of darkness passing behind the suclpture on one side.

  2. I see a stone sculpture moving back and forth. I think that the type of animation chosen for this gif is perfect because it allows us to see the small specks of stone that reflect light (glittery effect). The shape of the sculpture creates shadows that make it look like something more delicate than it what it is, it looks more like a rose. I feel calm watching this, since it is so smooth my eyes glide over the figure and nothing about it is unpleasant or annoying. When i close my eyes i remember the shape of the sculpture and the shadows it creates.

  3. I sandstone colored sculpture that is curved and swirled as it rotates left and right reminds of pastry, specifically marzipan. The texture and design reminds me of giant piece of candy that I want to eat. As I close my eyes I can see the sweet form teasing me moving back and forth.
